The Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido has become a hot tourist spot in recent years.
The Blue Pond is only one part of a harmonious symphony. The other part is its surrounding forest. The water’s enigmatic color has also made the pond a popular spiritual place.
The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across fifteen hectares of land on Oka-no-machi Biei. It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from spring through to fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish. Why not come and enjoy the beautiful fragrance of the blossoms amid spectacular panoramic scenery?
One of the largest lavender fields in Japan is in the Higashinaka District of Kamifurano Town. It's 4 km east of Farm Tomita, in the direction of the Tokachi Mountains.
Rice paddies have been converted into the lavender field, to produce perfume ingredients.
Located in the heart of the rural Furano valley, Lavender East commands views of the Tokachi Mountains to the east and the diverse Mt. Furanonishi, Mt. Ashibetsu and other moutains in the Yubari range to the South. This is where lavender cultivation started in Furano.
