Onuma Park
Onuma Park, a "quasi-national park" just 20 km north of Hakodate, is famous for its scenic lakes and Mount Komagatake. It is easily accessible for a day trip or as a stopover between Hakodate and Sapporo. Many limited express trains stop at Onuma Koen Station, the park’s central railway hub.

Shikabe Geyser Park
This Michi-no-Eki highlights the town’s seafood and hot spring resources, featuring a geyser, footbath, and a local product store selling seafood like Shikabe-Tarako. It includes a restaurant run by a fishery cooperative’s women’s section, along with a fresh fish shop and delicatessen. Designed as an “Experience and Training Building,” it offers educational travel programs, cooking workshops, and tourism information for Shikabe and nearby areas.

Hakodate Jomon Culture Center
Located in the Minamikayabe district in the north of Hakodate, this museum is intended for people to learn about Jomon culture. Stoneware, earthenware and accessories, including a national treasure Chuku-dogu (a hollow clay figure figurine) made 3,500 years ago, are exhibited.

Takei no Shima Observatory
From the Takei no Shima Observatory in Hakodate City, you can admire a breathtaking view of the Tsugaru Strait, especially at sunrise. The uniquely shaped "Takei no Shima" consists of three rocks fused together, creating a mysterious atmosphere. This nature-rich spot offers a perfect place to refresh your mind and body.
