Geography

Taipei City is located in the northern part of Taiwan, situated at the center of the Taipei Basin. As a typical alluvial plain surrounded by mountains, the landscape was primarily formed by tectonic subsidence. It is bordered by the Datun Volcano Group to the north and rugged mountains to the southeast. Within this flat expanse, the Tamsui and Keelung Rivers wind through the city, creating a unique and distinctive riverine topography.

Climate

Taipei has a warm humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. In spring, temperatures gradually rise, bringing warmer and more humid conditions. Summers are hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, frequent rainfall, and common afternoon thunderstorms. As autumn arrives, temperatures fall, and the weather becomes drier and more pleasant. Winters are relatively cool, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 15°C, accompanied by refreshing northerly breezes and less frequent rainfall.
